Apple expands AI capabilities with iOS 18.2(.1)-update

Visual Intelligence for iPhone 16 users

Especially for iPhone 16 users, Apple is introducing the Visual Intelligence feature. This technology uses the camera to provide instant information about objects, places and texts. All in real-time, without the need to open additional apps.

iOS 18.2.1 available as of January

The iOS 18.2 update was released in December 2024. However, version 18.2.1 was released yesterday. In it, several bugs are fixed. The new iOS will first be released in English-speaking countries before users in the Netherlands can use it. The Dutch version is expected in April 2025. However, Apple announced that the update will be accessible worldwide once it is optimized for local languages and markets.
