Claude AI now performs computational tasks independently

ai chatbot claude breakthrough

Anthropic, the company behind the AI chatbot Claude, has launched an impressive new feature: Claude can now independently perform tasks on a computer. With this so-called "computer use" feature, Claude navigates the screen by himself, clicking and typing just like a real user. This opens up new possibilities for those who value efficiency and automation, such as AI enthusiasts and marketers looking to increase their productivity.

What can Claude 3.5 do differently now?

The improved Claude 3.5 Sonnet can now "look" at screens, move the cursor, click and type. This means that Claude can perform tasks independently on your computer.

This "computer use" feature is still in beta, but developers can already experiment with it and automate tasks.

In the video below, see how the new "computer use" feature works and what possibilities it offers for your workflow.

Claude as assistant in travel planning and coding

Another interesting application can be seen in two impressive demos in which Claude plans a trip and writes code for a Web page. These functionalities allow Claude to perform complex tasks completely autonomously, from analysis or idea to execution. Imagine a marketer deploying Claude to optimize content or configure a campaign, without manual input.

The AI race: Microsoft and OpenAI soon to follow

The introduction of these features is not the only development; the AI market is changing rapidly. Microsoft recently announced that their AI agents will soon be available through Copilot, integrated into various Microsoft products. OpenAI earlier this month introduced "Swarm," an open-source project in which multiple AI agents work together to perform tasks efficiently. Together, these developments mark the beginning of an era in which AI agents streamline our daily processes.

Powerful upgrades in software development

In addition to the new features, Anthropic has given the existing Claude Sonnet a major upgrade. This update boosts performance in all areas, with a specific focus on software development. According to key benchmarks, Claude now outperforms other available AI models. For marketing technologists, this means that Claude is even better able to perform technical analysis and optimizations, which can significantly increase the effectiveness of campaigns.

New analysis tool can compute, analyze and visualize in one interface

Claude has also added a new analysis tool. It allows the AI chatbot to write and execute JavaScript code on its own. In a special code environment, Claude can now get straight into data analysis, make complex calculations and try out different solutions.

This update makes Claude a lot more practical; it now really works like a data analyst. Where before it could only do theoretical analysis, now it can clean up, explore and analyze data step by step. You not only get substantiated answers, but also precise calculations that you can reproduce and verify. This is especially useful with CSV files.

This opens up new opportunities for different teams. For example, marketers can thoroughly analyze customer data, sales gets clear insights into sales results, and product managers can better translate user behavior into product development.

The analysis tool is now available as a preview to anyone with a Claude account.

New model: Claude 3.5 Haiku

Anthropic is also coming out with a new AI model: Claude 3.5 Haiku. This model offers the same performance as its larger predecessor Claude 3 Opus, but is faster and cheaper. Especially in tasks such as coding and personal assistance, it excels. Haiku is an interesting option for companies looking to deploy AI without sacrificing speed and performance.

The improved Claude Sonnet and analysis tool are already available, while Claude 3.5 Haiku will be launched later this month.

The future of AI for businesses and marketers

Anthropic's latest developments, such as updates to Claude 3.5 Sonnet and the upcoming Haiku model, lay a solid foundation for innovative AI applications within marketing and business operations. These developments allow companies to turn over more and more tasks to AI, saving time and using resources more efficiently.
